A Few Changes

I've decided to add a few changes to my blogs criteria. I will not only descuss Disney news but I will talk about all my nerdy interests like comics, movies, toys, music, tv, and UFC. These are the things I'm most interested in and I feel I will have more to talk about this way.

I'm excited about this coming weekend because I will be driving to Louisville to see the Old Crow Medicine Show. They are an awsome modern bluegrass/ folk/ country band. If you don't know who they are you should check them out.

Old Crow Medicine Show

Also openin up the show is a band called The Felice Brothers. They are awsome as well. They are kind of a pub rock/ folk group.

Its been a while.

Sorry its been so long, my computers been messing up left and right.
A lot has happened in the world of Disney in the last few weeks.
First Disney has anounced the new theme for next year called "What Will You Celebrate?"
Staring in January Disney will have all kinds of new thing for wedding, honeymoons, aniverserys, reunions, first visits, and birthdays. The biggest thing will be the birthdays. If you go to any Disney park this year on your birthday yu get in FREE! All you have to do is register your birthday online at there web site and the will give you a coupon to get in free. Thats awsome! Also if you live near the parks and have a season pass you can get a $75 doller credit to spend on your birthday.

Disney has also shut down all the clubs this past week at Pleasure Island in order to start construction on all new shops and restraunts.

Disney has also anounced plans to make several new movies, one being the Lone Ranger. They have anounced that none other than Johnny Depp will take on the role of Tonto and rumor has George Clooney will take the role of the Lone Ranger.
Another movie plan is a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean. It is still in early stages but is hoped for a release in 2011-2012.
Pixar has also anouced several new movies for the next few years; Up, Toy Story 3, Cars 2, and a few more.

As I think of more stuff I'll post it. Sorry for the delay.

Protest

Some employees of Disneyland resort hotels are protesting the new Disney healthcare plan tomorrow. They plan to block traffic and most likly get arrested. I don't know exactly what about the healthcare they don't like but if its anything like the healthcare throughout the country it probubly stinks.

No More Mcdonalds...

Thats right Disney has parted ways with Mcdonalds. As of September there will be no more Mcdonalds at any Disney park and any Disney toys in Happy Meals. This is an attempt to promote healthy eating.

This is kind of dumb in my opinion. But they can do what they want.

The Princess And The Frog

This post is for Cameron.
The Princess And The Frog is the first traditionally animated movie the Disney Studios have made since Home On The Range. This movie will more than likely determine the future of animated movies since the last two did not do as well as predected. The Princess And The Frog features the first black princess. The movie has bayou/ cajun setting with alligaters and voodoo witchdoctors. The move features the voice talants of Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, John Goodman, Jenifer Lewis, Angela Bassett and Peter Bartlett . But the lead role of Tiana will voiced by Anika Noni Rose. The movie will also feature the music of Randy Newman; who did the music for Disney and Pixars Toy Story series. The movie is being directed by John Musker and Ron Clements and produced by John Lasseter.

Just For The 4th Of July: The Hall Of Presidents!

The Hall Of Presidents was a dream of Walt Disney's from the very start of Disneyland but the technology was not advanced enough to pull off yet. Thus, Walt decided to put his Audio-Animatronics to the test by Creating a life like interpratation of his favorite president, Abraham Lincoln. This attraction was called Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln.

This attraction premiered along with many others at the 1964 Worlds Fair. It wasn't exactly what Walt wanted but he was happy with it. This attraction was the start to many great rides and attractions in all the Disney parks including Walt's dream, The Hall Of Presidents. Walt's brother Roy decided to put Walts vision in motion when he started plans to build Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. The original name was going to be "We The People," but Roy thought "The Hall Of Presidents" would be more suiting. The attraction also features poet, Maya Angelou as narrator. The Hall of presidents is one of the many great American symbols the Walt Disney Company has done over the years and it is clearly one of the best.
I hope you enjoy!

I Don't Know How Good This Will Be...

pi6
This is a new restarant called Portobella Yacht Club. It features authentic Italian dinners
pi2
This is Fulton Crab House. It has been at Downtown Disney for a while but will be getting a bit of a face lift this spring mostly to the third floor.
pi7
This is T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure. It is a new family restarant opening this fall. T-Rex will feature life size animatronic Dinosaurs, water falls, geysers, and a fossil dig site.
pi1
This is a balloon from Disney Paris. They are bringing a balloon like it to Downtown Disney to take people 300ft in the air to view Disney World from above.

New Face For Downtown Disney

Disney announced last weekend that they were elimnating all the dance clubs at Downtown Disneys Pleasure Island. They are doing so to make room for more shopping and entertainment. In my opinion this is great because when I go to Disney World I don't go to go clubbing. The only confirmed store that I know of right now is a Hanes Create Your Own T-Shirt store. Which might be cool.

First Ride Blog! Rock'n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

aerosmith
I decided to do my first ride post on Rock'n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith in honor of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith which i just bought late last night. Rock'n Roller Coaster is located in both Walt Disneys Hollywood Studios in Florida and the Disney Studios Park in in France. The ride in Florida opened July 29th, 1999. It is the second fastest ride in all the Disney parks. It is second only to the Test Track in Disneyland Paris. R.R.C. goes from 0 to 58mph in 2.8 seconds. The ride is set up to where you end up in the studio in "G-Force Records." You walk in to see a video set up to look like Aerosmith is working on a new track. The band notices you are there and then invites you to come to a show with backstage passes. In their "Super Stretch Limo." You then continue to walk through the queue lines til you end up at a coaster loadind station set up to look like a back ally. you the enter the limo shaped trains and hang on. The coaster plays Aerosmith tracks that go along with the scenery of the ride. The ride is lined with all kinds of black light paint bilboards. It makes for a really cool experience!

I hope you enjoy these videos they are the best ones i could find!

Walt Disney World in 3D!

In case you didn't know Disney has teamed up with Google to make a 3D version of Walt Disney World on Google Earth. You can go to www.disneyworld.com/3dpark to find out more. But for your Viewing pleasure this is the video from web page hosted by Ludweg Von Drake.

Wall*E Review

wall e 2
A+

Wall*E was by far one of Disney and Pixars best. This is the best movie since Finding Nemo! It features very little talking but still keeps you interested the entire time. Wall*E is a depiction of the direction we are heading that puts Al Gore's An Inconvenant Truth to shame, haha. The movie also makes you really care about its characters and keeps you on your toes from the very begining. Not to mention the flawless animation that truely outshines the competion. I really loved this movie and will be really disapointed if it does not win the animation oscar. I would have to give Wall*E an A+!
